Carlos, whose civil status is that of Yvan-Chrysostome Dolto, born on 20 February 1943 in the 5th arrondissement of Paris and died on 17 January 2008 in Clichy, is a French singer, actor and fantasy artist.
He was a close friend of Dorothée, Eddie Barclay, Chantal Goya, Sim, Dave, Annie Cordy, Johnny Hallyday, Joe Dassin, Jeane Manson, Coluche and above all Sylvie Vartan, who helped him take his first steps on stage with him.
His vast repertoire is cheerful and festive, often with a playful saucy connotation, such as the songs Le Tirelipimpon, Papayou or Big Bisou. He is also popular with children, being the godfather of the TV show Club Dorothée and the hero of the cartoon Les Aventures de Carlos.
With his stoutness and a naturally debonair and jovial face, Carlos quickly adopted a clean look (flower necklaces, Hawaii...
